With the end of the year fast approaching, I have to wonder if my college will ever happen... Right now I can't even afford in-state without pulling a hefty loan. Which, of course, the plan was to go out of state so I could leave this.. place.. But as it stands, my school apparently isn't going to give me any financial aid whatsoever because of my rather high EFC. I've filed an appeal for special circumstances, as my mother lost her job and had a major surgery, and that should get my expected contribution lowered somewhat, but I can't find that out until September. Right now it looks like I'm going to have a majorly huge loan.. Well, at least I'm doing engineering... I have received a few scholarships, but not as many as I would have hoped. It would be nice if I got a tuition waiver out of my appeal, but that'll take a HUGE amount of luck.

In the meantime, I'm looking at perhaps going to state college and working full time. A friend of mine got an apartment in Sacramento, and as soon as her internet is up, I might talk to her about going there. At least I'll be closer to Davis and the Bay Area, so it'll work. And I can work on getting my independent status, to lower my EFC.

Web design also isn't going that great... I've put in bids for a few projects, but didn't receive them. My website's been completely revamped, but I worry that it's too informal and graphics heavy. I'm working on a Wordpress theme (or at least claim I am.. I haven't even opened it yet) which I plan on using as a sample... We'll see.
